Good Morning Kids...The whole patio thing is definately a love hate relationship. I hate patios during the day if its hot and sunny...I mean really, who wants to be sitting in the heat, sweating, ruining any type of hair and look you had going that day? And then if you are "lucky" they have water misters going...which is great if I was an Orchid..however I do not frequent your establishment to be hosed down, thank you! NO SIREE! NOT ME! Put me over under an A/C vent and bring me the cocktail menu. However, once the sun goes down or is atleast twilight I am all for an evening out on the patio. The lighting seems to be perfect, the temperature is bearable, and the misters have the night off while they prepare for a long day of spritzing the lunch-tme crowd. At the risk of sounding like a super queen I think Cyclone Anayas (Did I just drop a hair pin?) does a pretty good job of the patio atmosphere. They still use cloth tableclothes and napkins outisde, which I like....just because I am outside doesnt mean I wanted to go to a picnic...they also have great windows for looking inside so you can talk about people and they cant even hear you...it is also conviniently located by the valet so you can people watch as you wait for your Bentley...or your very practical-fun-to-cruise-around-in Volkswagen. While there I recommend the pomagranate ( I think thats spelled wrong, but Im not gonna look it up) Mojito...Thats all for now....J.R...
oh, and P.S.....if I were to do a patio during the day it would definately have to have enough room between tables for me to wear my sun bonnet.
For the love, I cannot think of a patio here in Dallas. The Coyote Cafe in Sante Fe keeps popping into my head. That has got to be my all time favorite. Locally, I almost always opt to eat inside. When a wild hair strikes, I enjoy the patio Villa-O.
Well, we have to say our favorite Dallas patio is our Uptown location at McKinney at Hall. But out Park Cities location on Lovers Lane in Inwood Village has just been updated and is pretty awesome too! If we can't choose ourselves... we'd have to say Ozona has a pretty awesome patio. And we like Partrizio at Highland Park Village. Lots of shady trees.

Ozona. Shaded and cool, with a wide-ranging menu. Best drink? The bloody mary's at weekend brunch! Their bloody mary bar has everything!
P.S. Whose doggie is Bling? So cute!
Bling is J.R.'s baby. And yet he's still perfectly well adjusted :)
The Grapevine is my fave--and I'm partial to Tangeritas in the summer :)

Good call, Gammypie. I love Villa-O!
My friend S must be paying the rent at the Grapevine. He practially lives there. They do have a good patio.

Why thank you, Bread Winners! Even though we're pretty sure you're partial, we love your McKinney Ave patio ourselves. :)
Very nice thanks for the posting.............
