In honor of FoodiePrincess's recent announcement, let's talk cravings - pregnancy-related or otherwise.  What's the weirdest, wackiest craving you've ever experienced or heard about through the grapevine?

I'll kick this one off with a doozie:  A certain sweet someone I know craved grapefruits with a vengeance while she was expecting, and was even awakened in the night by her intense need for the sweet-and-sour fruit.  More than once, she consumed multiple grapefruits in the wee hours and even dreamed about the darned things when she finally got back to sleep!

Wacky, huh?  Now it's your turn!

I have SO many strange cravings! But just to name a few...

Peanut butter and pumpkin sandwiches. Steamed broccoli with ketchup and mustard. Baked tofu with veganaise.

I'm a little embarrassed now :/

While pregnant with my daughter, I craved hot fudge sundaes. Maybe that's why she's so sweet.

While expecting my son, I craved Tex-Mex, hot and spicy. As soon as the heartburn subsided, I wanted more! (Not going to speculate on the effect on the male child.)

A few years back I had a crazy obsession with yellow mustard.

Gammypie- I currently have that same obsession...I just didn't know it was weird :)

Gammypie: A mustard craving isn't weird or crazy...
Eddie: ...Except if you want to eat it on *broccoli* :)

And I'll quote Karen Walker (from W&G):
"That's funny 'cuz it's true!"

:D

To better understand my admittedly warped idea of "comfort foods", remind me to tell you about my culinary experiences growing up.

I only thought it was weird because I had to have it on everything and I hated it growing up. One of my girlfriends was pregnant and all of the sudden I loved mustard. I ate it right out of the those little packets at my desk.

Straight out of the packets? Now *that's* weird! :)

I went through a time frame and I was not pregnant where I totally craved Chocolate Covered Pretzels. It would be all the time and I made special trips when I ran out. I still love them but don't CRAVE them.
