My mom got some interesting Food Network gossip from Tim Love while dining at Lonesome Dove last week.
Check out her blog for the scoop, as well as for an adorable picture of her and Chef Love...

If you are ever in the stockyards area, this IS the place to dine. Chef Love specializes in game type meats, but done in a totally unique, upscale way. It's "western cool". Two of us had New Zealand Red Deer Chops but they were not the least bit gamey tasting. They came with a truffled Mac and Cheese and corn fried artichokes that were to die for. Two people in our group had the house specialty, which is a roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin with syrah demi glace - they were in food heaven. On the dessert menu was his Warm Ancho Chili Chocolate Cake with Tomatillo Anglaise, that took him over the top during the Iron Chef challenge, but we were so stuffed we opted for a lighter ice cream dish. All that great food and a chef in boots that makes Tyler Florence look like a sissy (yes he does Lisa and Robin, he wins the cuteness battle, too.)
